I recently had someone ask what I could recommend for someone that hates taking bipolar Pharmaceuticals. My 1st suggestion to anyone experiencing struggles with mental health is always to start with meditation or Yoga or BOTH! Meditate every morning; We need to check in with ourselves before starting the day. I do at least 10 min (Typically 20-30 min) yoga with a meditation every morning. The days I skip it, the entire house and probably the neighbors, all know. My days are complete shit when I don't check in with myself before I just go about my day.
Starting my day by stretching my muscles and moving my body in ways that feel good to me makes me ready for anything that comes my way. I always use the example that you wouldn't run a marathon without stretching first, and I don't know about you, but for me, most days feel like a marathon.
I started my day today with a 20-minute power yoga session and meditation, followed by watering the garden, and standing in my driveway as my 11yr old locked the door out of habit, on her way to school. Had I not started my day with Yoga, I can promise I would have spent 20 minutes having an anxiety attack and probably would have called my in-laws, freaking out that I needed them to bring the spare key to let me in. I work from home, how would I have done my job.. Thankfully I did not skip yoga, I allowed myself to take a breath and rationalize the situation, before reacting and I remembered that the back door was unlocked from when I watered the garden. The strength from yoga allowed me to hop the wall like a kid, and let myself back in the house.
So maybe remember to check in with yourself. Ask yourself how you're doing, how you feel, and adjust so you can be prepared for the day.
Just some advice. Ok, Bye, Bye.
