What do Dusk, Hand-washing, Yoga, Friday the 13th, The Golden Gate Bridge, a Witch, and two rebellious souls have in common?

Do you believe in the power of unity and transformation? Join me on a journey that intertwines yoga, spirituality, and some of life's most intriguing superstitions – from Dusk to Witches and the mystique of Friday the 13th.

As a child, I was held captive by fears and superstitions. Dusk, bridges, black cats, and the ominous aura of Friday the 13th loomed large in my imagination. Yet, as I grew, so did my rebellious spirit. I dared to challenge these fears - embracing black cats, crossing bridges with gusto, and even invoking "Bloody Mary" in the mirror. These acts were my first steps towards mastering my anxieties and reclaiming my power.

Yoga became my sanctuary. It's more than just physical postures; it's a philosophy of unity. This ancient practice guided me to harmonize my mind, body, and spirit, fostering a deep connection with the world. As a devoted yogi, I've found tranquility and strength, overcoming the root causes of my anxieties.

The heart of the Yoga philosophy is rooted in the concept of unity. This ancient and holistic philosophy aims to unite the body, mind, and spirit, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all aspects of the self and the universe.

Yoga promotes the idea of unity within self, encouraging practitioners to cultivate harmony between their physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions through various yoga practices such as asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breath control), and meditation.

Beyond the individual self, yoga emphasizes unity with others and the world around us, cultivating empathy, compassion, and a sense of interconnectedness with all living beings, fostering unity and harmony.

Since beginning my yoga practice and using food as medicine, I have harnessed the power over the root causes of my anxiety, aka the fears I used to let control my energy.

The Number 13 | The Phoenix Enigma

Contrary to popular belief, I found a spiritual ally in the number 13. It symbolizes transformation, balance, and unity in various cultures - concepts that resonate deeply with my journey. Embracing this number, especially on Friday the 13th, became a ritual of personal empowerment and spiritual growth.

In many spiritual traditions, the number 13 has associations with transformation, rebirth, and spiritual evolution due to its capacity to initiate profound changes and new beginnings.

In some Native American traditions, the number 13 is linked to the cycles of the seasons and the interconnectedness of all living beings, symbolizing harmony and balance within the natural world.

In Kabbalistic teachings, the number 13 is associated with unity and the interconnectedness of the physical and spiritual realms, emphasizing the divine presence within the material world.

As a Holistic Health Practitioner and Functional Nutrition Counselor, I help bridge the gap in our healthcare system by serving as the medium, speaking both the language of the patient and the physician, creating a union for better patient health outcomes.

Bridges serve as a metaphor for connecting people and communities, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in spiritual growth and collective consciousness.

Bridges are a physical and philosophical passage from one state to another, representing the journey from one spiritual realm to another or the crossing from the material world to the divine.

Some cultures consider bridges as spiritual pathways connecting the earthly plane with the spirit world, emphasizing the significance of rituals, ceremonies, and offerings performed on bridges to establish communication with the spiritual realm.

Some spiritual perspectives encourage individuals to challenge superstitions and negative beliefs associated with Friday the 13th, promoting the philosophy of taking control of one's destiny and creating positive energy despite prevailing cultural fears. Whether in my professional life or personal beliefs, bridges symbolize the journey toward a higher understanding and unity.

Interestingly, my path led me to discover parallels between witches and yogis. Their knowledge of rituals, healing, and the interconnectedness of all beings is a testament to the universal truths that transcend individual practices.

While they may appear to belong to different traditions, they're both custodians of ancient wisdom, guiding others in their spiritual journeys of growth and self-realization. Both are often associated with healing and energy manipulation. They possess deep spiritual knowledge, often rooted in ancient traditions. They have extensive knowledge of rituals, meditation techniques, and esoteric wisdom.

Witches often play a significant role in preserving cultural traditions and community rituals. Some serve as mediums between the physical and spiritual worlds, providing spiritual counsel, divination, and ritual practices to help individuals navigate life's challenges and uncertainties.

Witches may lead ceremonies, rites of passage, and seasonal celebrations, keeping the cultural heritage and spiritual practices passed down through generations alive. & Some witches sucked the lives out of the children of Salem, and their lives depended on doing so before Dusk.

Once a source of fear, Dusk revealed itself as a magical time. Dusk is the transition period between day and night, a transition period that various esoteric traditions consider a powerful threshold time when the energies of both day and night converge. Dusk symbolizes the transition from light to darkness, representing the balance between opposing forces and the cyclical nature of life.

Dusk is often associated with change, transformation, and inner reflection themes. It is an ideal time for introspection, setting intentions, and letting go of what no longer serves one's spiritual growth. Embracing Dusk became a metaphor for embracing change and the cyclical nature of life.

There is a belief that during this liminal period, the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is thin, making it an opportune moment for magical practices such as spellcasting, divination, meditation, or spiritual practice and unions.

The concept of the union of two souls is often associated with love, companionship, spiritual growth, and the pursuit of a shared higher purpose or spiritual path. A spiritual union highlights the transformative power of deep emotional and spiritual connections in fostering intimate and collective evolution.

Twin Flame – An Awakening - OMTimes Magazine

Our journey culminated on Friday, October 13, 2023. Planned to be an elopement in a South American jungle, it evolved into something more meaningful. Amidst the complexities of planning, south America was out the window and planning was set aside. It was during this time that we discovered the beauty and the significance of hand-washing ceremonies in Native American and Hawaiian traditions This ritual of cleansing and unity perfectly encapsulated our journey and aspirations.

Ceremonial hand-washing is a spiritual bonding experience where the couple's spirits are cleansed and united in the presence of their ancestors and the natural world. The hand-washing ritual signifies purification and cleansing of the past, allowing the couple to enter their marriage with a fresh start.

We knew that whenever and wherever we were going to get married, we wanted to incorporate the hand-washing ceremony.

One random day in November of 2022, there was a deal on flights for early 2023. We looked at the available flights to the various cities. San Francisco stuck out to us, almost like The Golden Gate Bridge was calling both our names.
Fate led us to San Francisco, specifically the Golden Gate Bridge, on another Friday the 13th.
When looking at the available flight dates, we realized that Friday, January 13, 2023, was open, and there was a likelihood of still eloping on Friday the 13th. And we knew we wanted to include the bridge, but where? We found a location the night before in the pouring rain. Fate led us to San Francisco, specifically the Golden Gate Bridge, on another Friday the 13th.

We found an ordained minister on Thumbtack who was also everything we could have imagined officiating our union. It was as if we manifested her. Later, we discovered she was a witch, which made perfect sense. We also now share her parent's wedding anniversary.

It rained all day in the San Francisco Bay on Friday the 13th. The rain stopped just long enough for our ceremony to occur at Dusk. The energy was incredible, and our auras could be seen by onlookers watching from afar and in some of the cellphone photos taken. The clouds parted in the shape of wings as we sealed our union, and let me say, the energy was fierce, and the magic was surreal!

When we put the work into self-unity and healing and allow ourselves the freedom to experience joy along the journey while having faith that our self-evolution is for the greater good, everything else will fall into place in divine time just as it should. Even if something dreams and unions take 19 years, it will end up better than you imagined!

A witch united two rebellious souls in the presence of their ancestors and the natural world via a hand-washing ceremony overlooking The Golden Gate Bridge at Dusk on Friday the 13th.

Our story is a testament to the power of self-unity and healing. When we embrace our journey with joy and faith in self-evolution, everything aligns in divine timing. Our elopement, a blend of ancient rituals and personal beliefs, was a union of two souls, a celebration of overcoming fears and challenges and embracing life's magical moments.

Set Goals That Inspire, Not Overwhelm: Harnessing Breath, Yoga, Functional Nutrition, and Small Steps to Thrive

Set Goals That Inspire, Not Overwhelm: Harnessing Breath, Yoga, Functional Nutrition, and Small Steps to Thrive Every morning, the sun rises—slowly, steadily, and inch by inch. At first, a faint glow appears on the horizon, followed by a single ray of light. Gradually, the sun peeks over the earth, one fragment at a time, until its full brilliance shines. Our goals are much like the sunrise. Progress happens incrementally, with each small step building on the last. These steps, often overlooked, are the micro-goals and habits that create lasting change. I was reminded of this truth during a simple morning routine. While running the track with my daughter before school, I got caught up racing her and a friend. As I pushed forward, I noticed she’d slowed down, walking with her friends. Instead of trying to catch her in one exhausting sprint—something I knew I couldn’t sustain—I focused on a smaller, attainable goal: closing the gap halfway. Little by little, I made progress, eventually c...
